Amount available: $500 honoraria to eligible Indigenous graduate students.  There is a total of $15,000 to fund up to 30 Indigenous graduate students. 

Eligibility

  • Current Indigenous graduate student (Masters or PhD) studying at a post-secondary institution in Saskatchewan. 
  • Commit to a minimum of 1 x 60 minute online mentoring session with a mentor (from our list of participating mentors)
  • Please note you can only apply for this award or the Online Writing Group Stipend, not both awards.

What is the online mentorship session for?

  • Can be support related to current circumstances and opportunity to talk about your needs during this time
  • A chance to run ideas, thesis and dissertation questions by someone who has gone through this process and mentored other students through it as well.
  • Writing, publication, research support
  • Research questions
  • Proposal writing
  • Or anything else you can think of!

  • Able to commit to meeting online with your group weekly for 1 hour for 4 weeks beginning the week of May 4, 2020

How it works:

  • A webex/zoom meeting will be hosted for your group each week by the Mentorship Network.
  • A faculty mentor with experience in your group’s thematic area will facilitate the first and last meetings.
  • Attendance will be taken each week by the Mentorship Network, but the meeting host will not participate in the meeting (muted/video off). 
  • The second allotment of funding ($500) contingent on group participation over the first 3 weeks of your writing group.
